Domestic Insights Day

Important information concerning IDP Connect events.

After careful consideration and consultation with our friends and colleagues across the sector, and with the health and safety of everyone in the sector in mind, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 WhatUni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs).

The Domestic Insights Day due to be held in association with the WUSCAs will also be postponed.

While this decision was not taken lightly, it was felt that to continue with the events in the context of a global pandemic would not be in the best interest of the sector, the students, and our staff.

What This means:
We are a student first organisation, and recognising the value of the reviews to students we will proceed with announcing the winners of each WUSCAs category digitally towards the end of June.

IDP Connect will be working hard to ensure that the online announcement of WUSCAs winners will be promoted widely, and will engage with both the sector and the student population as it would normally do.

The shortlisted institutions will receive supporting publicity materials, such as the official awards badges, enabling them to announce their success across their own channels.

A separate and adjusted physical ceremony is still expected to take place later in the year, in partnership with the rescheduled Domestic Insights day. These rescheduled events will be designed to provide real value both for institutions recognised by the WUSCAs and for the sector as a whole.

As the details of these events will need to be based on how the current situation develops, we cannot yet provide additional information but will ensure to keep you updated as plans progress.

If you have already booked a ticket for the WUSCAs you will be contacted separately.

We appreciate that this is a disappointing outcome for the sector, and particularly those institutions who were nominated, but we hope that you will share our view that in the current circumstances it is our responsibility to take the necessary precautionary steps in securing the safety and wellbeing of all involved.
