IDP Education nurturing women in technology

IDP Education has created a new Digital Campus with a range of benefits, including nurturing women in technology.

The Digital Campus was opened in Chennai, India in November and will see more than 400 digital and technology experts come together to drive IDP’s bold digital transformation vision.

Currently their team is made up of 49% women, showing a strong commitment to #GirlsWhoCode.

Delivery Director Devi Muralidharan said growing up she wasn’t aware of the opportunities for women to enter tech careers.

But now, she believed that was changing.

“The industry is changing as more women become leaders in information technology services,” she said.

“We grew from a small team of 10, with managers who believed in us, and gave us the flexibility and freedom to grow our careers in areas that interested us.

“It is this progressive culture and the leadership that has led to 49% of our Digital Campus team being female – and I am proud of my role in driving this growth.”

Devi Muralidharan has been with IDP and IDP Connect for more than 13 years and manages a team of about 200.

Looking ahead, she said the Digital Campus and clear digital vision was uniting teams and inspiring them to own their own career journey.

“I believe in lifelong learning. I am excited to empower my team with the skills and drive they need to provide faster, efficient and passionate delivery of quality digital experiences.”

Director of Digital Technology Services Amudha Kannan said she was immensely proud of their team and was excited Chennai was the engine room for digital growth.

A natural leader, her career with IDP has grown rapidly since she established IDP’s first technical support team of three people, more than 12 years ago.

“I enjoy inspiring talented team members who have greater propensity to learn and grow at DigiTech speed.  That’s what we do at IDP.”

IDP Digital Campus is located at DLF IT SEZ, Block 1B, 5th and 6th Floor, 1/124, Mount Poonamallee Road, Ramapuram, Chennai – 600 089.
