IDP called on to showcase Brisbane education to the world

When leading universities, government agencies and education providers in the Australian city of Brisbane set a goal to increase the sunny city’s profile among international students, they turned to IDP Education.

In May 2019, 50 IDP education counsellors from around the globe gathered in Brisbane for an immersion program to showcase the Australian city’s world-class education and superb lifestyle.

The week-long intensive program, Brisbane: Start Here, Go Anywhere, saw universities Griffith, QUT and UQ form a consortium with Study Brisbane and accommodation providers StudentOne and Iglu to host the IDP Education counsellors in their city.

Global reach enabling diverse student recruitment

James Cauchy, IDP Regional Director for Australasia, said the consortium’s choice to partner exclusively with IDP is testament to the organisation’s quality teams and global reach.

“We were delighted to support Brisbane: Start Here, Go Anywhere to achieve its goal of raising awareness of Brisbane for prospective international students. “

“We give our institution clients access to 32 countries worth of embedded knowledge and contacts, making it easy to achieve the reach and diversity of audiences they’re looking for,” he said.

Peter Geale, Manager of International Communications at QUT said the initiative’s success was due to IDP and the consortium sharing a united goal to deliver the best outcomes for students.

“We appreciate the time IDP takes to understand QUT and other universities. This makes sure students are matched to the right course that works for them. This is important for our students, as it facilitates great student outcomes, great learning outcomes and, eventually, great career outcomes. “

Producing data-driven content, for students, by students

As part of the initiative, IDP content specialists captured stories and experiences of Queensland’s alumni and current international students.

“We understand that international students have many questions before deciding where to study. We get it, because many of our team have been international students themselves,” Mr Cauchy said.

“Our global data allows us to track the real questions students are asking. We then work with our global community of alumni to answer these questions for the next generation of international students.

“This is content that universities and educators can share across their social media channels to build credibility and trust with prospective students,” he said.

Our people, your partners

Brisbane: Start Here, Go Anywhere is one demonstration of IDP’s ability to develop solutions that help achieve recruitment and engagement goals.

“IDP is different from other agents as we can work together as true partners with our clients, understanding needs and enhancing capabilities with the transformative power of data, insights and engaged student communities.” Mr Cauchy said.

“We would like congratulate the consortium on this initiative. Thanks to their collaboration, more students and families around the world have deeper insights into the study experience in this dynamic city,” he said.
