Over the past 14 months, the COVID-19 pandemic has presented incredible challenges to universities.  Among these, much of the sector’s focus has been on the experience of current students, while the impact on delivering outreach and participation when institutions have had to pivot to online and transform strategies at a rapid pace has been discussed less frequently.

Episode 9 of our Global Student Marketing podcast readdresses the balance of our attention and returns much-needed focus to how institutions can continue progressing goals for widening participation in the context of the “new normal”.

You can listen to the episode on Buzzsprout here

Aaron Porter, Associate Director at IDP Connect, is joined by Caroline McDonald, Director of Access and Engagement at Birkbeck University of London, and Alex Blower, Access and Participation Manager at Arts University Bournemouth.

The panellists share new ways to engage with schools and outreach strategies for connecting with already hard to reach groups, as well as discussing whether higher education would still be a good experience and other topics of key concern.

Listen to this podcast for the tried and tested strategies of sector experts actively working on resolving the widening participation challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
