Richard O’Rourke is the Director of Admissions at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Over the past 15 years, Richard has worked with a variety of institutions to internationalize enrollment through enhanced communications and strategic outreach.
Ryan Griffin is the Director of the Office of International Admissions at the University of Missouri. In that role he oversees both international undergraduate recruitment efforts and application processing and credential evaluation. Griffin has served in International Admissions at Mizzou since 2011 and during that time has represented the University in more than 30 countries and helped thousands of students from around the world to navigate the application process and become Missouri Tigers. He is an active member of the International Association of College Admissions Counselors (IACAC), the Council of International Schools (CIS), the China Institute of College Admission Counseling (ChinaICAC) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and a former Chair for Region IV of NAFSA: Association of International Educators.
For over twenty years, Ita Duron has worked in all things international including education and marketing. With an academic background in international business, Ita currently serves as Executive Director of Global Strategy and International Programs, leading the university in its international initiatives.
George F. Kacenga, PhD
Dr. George Kacenga is the past-president of the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC). In addition, he co-chairs PNW’s American Council on Education Internationalization Lab experience and is co-creator of www.roiie.com, a tool utilized by international educators to uncover their true recruitment return-on-investment.
David Lind has three decades of experience in English language teaching programs in Spain, South America, and the United States. In his current role he oversees a range of pre-degree training programs for international undergraduate and graduate students destined for Syracuse University and other higher education institutions across the United States. He also manages partnerships with government sponsors and local peer institutions that broaden access for international students to academic and career opportunities.
Mallik Sundharam currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Dean of the Office of Global Services at Northeastern University. In this role, he manages the university’s Marketing and Recruitment network. Before joining Northeastern, Mallik served as the Vice President for ELS Educational Services. Mallik brings more than ten years of diverse and rich education industry experience.
Michael Wilhelm is currently the Associate Vice Chancellor for the Office of International Programs. As a former member of the Board of Directors for the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC), Michael brings over 20 years of experience within the field, specializing in the areas of immigration, student services, and recruitment.
Bryan is a results-oriented enrollment management and marketing professional with 17 years of experience in enrollment. He oversees undergraduate and graduate admissions, financial aid, registration, first-year students, academic success, advising, international student services, marketing and communications, media relations, and special events. Additionally, Bryan serves as Treasurer and Executive Board Member for the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC). He is currently enrolled at the University of Southern California earning his Ed.D in Organizational Change and Leadership.
Vanessa Andrade is CSUN’s Deputy Senior International Officer. Originally, from Brazil, Vanessa Andrade has a rich background in international education. A 20+ year professional within international education, Vanessa has worked in many areas within the industry including recruitment, program partnership development, customer service support, program operations, agency management, SEVIS management, ACCET accreditation and setting up TESL centers overseas. In addition to CSUN, Vanessa serves on the AIRC Board of Directors as well as the Board of Directors of the Study California, State Consortium.
Salma Benhaida is the Director of International Recruitment, Admissions, and Sponsored Student Services at Kent State University where she oversees international recruitment and admissions over the eight-campus system. She also acts as a liaison between Kent State University and various sponsoring agencies and foreign embassies. Salma enjoys serving in a variety of roles and presenting with various national and international stakeholders (AIRC, NAFSA, OACAC, EducationUSA).
Derrick Alex came to the United States as an international student from India and over the years has successfully led many areas within international enrollment management at multiple US institutions (both public and private). His experience includes developing/implementing region and audience specific international student marketing/recruitment/retention strategies, identifying opportunities and creating institutional partnerships, steering automation of business processes, collaborating with internal/external stakeholders to raise institutional awareness and branding. He is passionate and skilled in data analytics. Derrick is an American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) Board Member and leads international initiatives for the University of Houston.
Jorge Calderon leads international undergraduate recruitment efforts at Iowa State University. His responsibilities include the development of the recruitment strategy, expansion and tactical plan implementation, managing partnerships, and creating traditional and innovative recruitment events. Jorge has over 10 years of experience managing international student and exchange visitor programs. Jorge also serves as President of the Board for StudyIowa, a non-profit consortium organized to promote educational institutions in the state of Iowa.
Sarah Mackey is the Associate Director of International Admissions at the University of Cincinnati, where she leads a global team to advance the university’s international marketing and recruitment initiatives. An international education professional with nearly 10 years of experience, her diverse background includes strategic marketing and communication planning, leading and managing staff in the U.S. and abroad, managing agency and sponsoring organization relationships, and immigration advising. Sarah is an active member of the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC), the International Association of College Admissions Counselors (IACAC), the China Institute of College Admission Counseling (ChinaICAC), and NAFSA.
