IDP Connect has plenty to celebrate as it was named “Agency of the Year” at the American International Recruitment Council’s (AIRC) 2019 Annual Conference in Miami, Florida. The award comes during IDP Education’s 50th anniversary year and just three months after being named “Best Education Agency” at the 2019 PIEoneer Awards

The IDP Connect USA team collected the award at the conference’s Awards Luncheon on Thursday, December 12.

“We are humbled and honored to have received the AIRC Agency of the Year award in only the second year that the award has existed,” said David Bushey, Director of Client Partnerships and Operations for IDP Connect USA. “The award was undoubtedly a team effort: from the US onshore team to our counselors abroad working to help students find the best fit institution, everyone played a key role.”

George Kacenga, President Emeritus of AIRC, poses with the IDP Connect USA team.

With 120 offices in 30 countries, IDP is the only agency affording access to its global reach of trusted education counselors to over 680 clients across the world.

Dedicated to Upholding AIRC Certification Standards

As founding members of AIRC since 2009, IDP Connect has always been committed to upholding AIRC’s certification standards and strengthening the thought leadership and quality assurances that the organization provides. Our professionally trained and certified counselors are removed from the commission negotiation discussions with institutions, so counselors are not incentivized to prioritize one university over another. In addition, mandatory, annual ethics training ensures our values remain top of mind through all interactions with students, establishing trust and making it safer and easier for students to choose the right institution. Moreover, IDP’s ongoing internal evaluation ensures the utmost integrity and transparency in financial operations, openness in both internal and external communication, and honest and ethical recruiting practices.

Long-standing relationship with AIRC

IDP Connect has a long history of supporting AIRC. Val Daily, Network Engagement Manager, helped to pioneer the AIRC mentorship program, served on the conference planning committee for the past four years, and co-wrote the AIRC white paper “Best Practices in International Recruitment.” In addition, numerous IDP Connect staff members have delivered pre-conference workshops and sessions at AIRC’s annual conference every year since its inception. At the 2019 conference, Client Director Ryan Fleming presented on best practices for yield communication, and Val Daily presented on fee models for agent services. David Bushey, Director of Client Partnerships and Operations, addressed the conference at the Awards Luncheon, speaking to IDP’s digital transformation and the vast prospective student dataset that IDP holds.

Satisfied students

IDP’s most important metric is customer satisfaction. In FY18, close to 9 in 10 students said they were likely to refer IDP to a friend or family. Therefore, it’s no surprise that most students who come to IDP offices report receiving a referral from friends or family members. IDP counselors regularly go above and beyond to support students, ensuring that they have an exceptional experience throughout the entire counseling process.

IDP Connect would like to thank its extensive network of counselors and staff for their hard work throughout 2019. This award is a testament to their dedication and commitment to assisting students in achieving their global education goals.
