This poster explores data on international student demand for the United States and its recent upturn following several years of declining interest. Drawing on the world’s largest combined dataset on prospective international students, the presenters discuss how geopolitical events and policy decisions have impacted student behavior and perceptions.

Data During a Pandemic: What Was Learned About International Education Wed, June 1 | 1:00 PM-1:50 PM

Throughout the pandemic, the Institute of International Education (IIE) and IDP Connect conducted surveys of students and institutions, establishing data to support international educators. In this session, presenters discuss the key findings that emerged from the surveys, including international student perceptions and institutional perspectives.

This session focuses on the importance of having a multipronged approach to recruitment, including using data to create a tailored strategy, raising global brand awareness via digital marketing, and working with strategic partners and agencies as an extension of one’s admissions team.

Emerging Futures: Latest Data on International Student Attitudes and Motivations Fri, June 3 | 9:30 AM-10:20 AM

Emerging Futures is the new biannual research by IDP Connect, exploring the motivations and attitudes of international students as well as the key drivers of choice. The research covers attitudes toward immigration policy, price, study modes, and delivery methods—equipping institutions, governments, and sector bodies with actionable insights.
